Located northwest of the Piazza Navona, S. Maria della Pace was rebuilt by Sixtus IV (1480–1484) to celebrate his victory over the Turks. Baccio Pontelli is thought to have been the architect. It was partially rebuilt in 1611. Alexander VII (1655–1667) chose Pietro da Cortona to design the façade and semicircular porch with its Tuscan columns. The interior contains Raphael’s Sibyls, a chapel by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, portions of frescoes by Rosso Fiorentino, a high altar by Carlo Maderno, and cloisters by Bramante
