Caius Cestius was an Augustan-era praetor and tribune of the plebes. A Roman citizen (not an emperor), he died in 12 b.c. His marble-covered tomb, located adjacent to the Protestant Cemetery, is 27 meters high with a 22-meter square base. It was included in the Aurelian Wall in the third century. The view displays the north and west façades.
